Foreman Homes hits charity target for Brainstrust

We are thrilled to announce that we have hit our £5,000 fundraising target for our 2023 charity of the year - brainstrust, raising a total of £5,127.31.

brainstrust are a UK based brain tumour charity providing personalised support to people with a brain tumour and their loved ones. A brain tumour diagnosis brings with it the double impact of a cancer diagnosis and a progressively debilitating neurological disease and treatment is complex and nearly always harmful. Diagnosis alone brings with it enormous impact on well-being and mental health. Fear, isolation, disempowerment and loss of control abound. This is where brainstrust can help. They provide personalised brain tumour support, to help you live life with a brain tumour.

In January, Foreman homes selected brainstrust as their charity of the year and since then, the team have been hard at work throughout the year holding a variety of different fundraising events such as silent auctions, charity walks and a Where's Wally hunt in the office.

We were delighted to meet the Director of Services and Policy, Helen Belbeck, yesterday to let her know what we've been doing and hand over the big cheque.

She said "Thank you! This is an incredible result driven by understanding the challenges living with a brain tumour brings. Foreman Homes pulled out all of the stops, had fun, brought people together and raised awareness of this devastating diagnosis whilst contributing massively to help others living with a brain tumour. These funds will provide brainboxes to 100 families, transforming for better the lives of people living with a brain tumour."

We hope this will go some way towards supporting people affected by a brain tumour diagnosis and can't wait to hear more about the great work brainstrust do in the future.
