Selborne Park is Health & Safety Site of the Year 2023

Congratulations to the team at Selborne Park in Alton for being the 2023 Health & Safety Site Winners!

The award is judged by our Health & Safety Manager, Chris Turner and based on the factors below;

  • Major and minor breaches
  • Accidents
  • Average hours recorded on site

Selborne Park not only reported the fewest major and minor breaches than any other site, they also completed over 209,000 hours – nearly 100,000 hours more than the next site in line.

Site Managers, Charlie Berry and Carl Kelsey, and Assistant Site Manager, Ben Long, are described by Chris as a pleasure to work with and keen to help improve processes and keep Health & Safety at the forefront of everyone's mind.

When Health & Safety issues are flagged, Charlie, Carl and Ben are quick to address them, finding efficient and effective solutions and working closely with Chris to maintain a strong relationship between the site team and inspectors.

Our Selborne Park development hasn't been a smooth process for the Site team with challenges coming from the weather, landscape and external suppliers and it would have been easy for the build schedule to be affected. However, thanks to Charlie, Carl and Ben's leadership and the commitment from everyone working on the site to uphold the Foreman Home's standard of building excellence, Selborne Park is developing into a beautiful community that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Chris said "Health and safety is not just a tick box exercise, health and safety is about the people you work with, how they react to me...changes...obstacles and legislation, and these guys showed leadership where it counted and delivered where it counted, thanks".

Congratulations again to Charlie, Carl, Ben and the whole team - keep up the great work!
