PLANNER OR SENIOR PLANNER

There is an exciting opportunity to join Foreman Homes and our busy Planning team are seeking to recruit an experienced full-time Planner or Senior Planner. This role is based at our offices in Park Gate, Fareham, Hampshire.

The role:

Reporting to the Planning Director and Planning Manager this is a very hands-on role, which will see the successful candidate being responsible for the complete planning process from site inception to receipt of planning permissions and beyond.

You will be dealing with anything from a single bespoke house, up to and including a residential-led mixed use development of many hundreds of homes. You would also have the opportunity to promote schemes of 1,000+ through our future-land promotion initiatives and no two days ever being the same.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Compile Planning applications, conditions, and appeal documentation for submission to Local Planning Authorities, including research as necessary on prior planning history of sites.
  • Manage the submission of planning applications to Local Planning Authorities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Attend Planning Committee Meetings and Public Consultation Meetings to represent Foreman Homes.
  • Organise and maintain office work systems, including ensuring that computer records are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain an up to date record of Local Planning Authorities' Planning policies and Local Plan Reviews for internal reference.
  • Monitoring and reviewing local planning policy. Including strategies which take account of transport, the local economy, jobs, green infrastructure, renewable energy, climate change and the historic environment.
  • Conducting appropriate research to inform planning applications.
  • Negotiate, obtain quotations from, and instruct external engineers and other consultants and assist in the evaluation of their use by the Group.
  • Collate and maintain evidence from public consultation meetings where the planning process requires it.
  • Liaise with the planning team to understand all necessary aspects and needs for operational development.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

  • Experience of working as a Planner, at least a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Experience of addressing the general public as well as council officers and committee members in a public forum.
  • Experience of planning processes, and regulations in relation to planning approval.

Qualifications and Training

  • Planning or Surveying Degree or equivalent is desirable
  • RTPI and/or
  • RIBA and/or
  • RICS

Skills and Aptitude

  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Works collaboratively with a diverse range of people
  • Good administration skills
  • Works effectively to deadlines and competently works on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Full driving licence required.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 30-minute lunch break


TECHNICAL COORDINATOR

There is an exciting opportunity to join Foreman Homes and our busy Technical team are seeking to recruit an experienced full-time Technical Coordinator with previous experience in the residential/house builder field. This role is based at our offices in Park Gate, Fareham, Hampshire.

The role:

Reporting to the Head of Technical this is a very hands-on role, which will see the successful candidate assisting in the progress design of construction projects and provide a general technical support to Site Managers and other departments.

You be a key member of the Construction Team and will ensure that you align your role with departmental strategies and changing business dynamics or goals of the Group.

In addition, to develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to solicit feedback that delivers continuous improvement throughout the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Technical support and advice, on current and proposed construction projects to key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers and external agencies.
    • Liaise with the Technical Team to understand all necessary aspects and needs for operational development.
    • Report to the Head of Technical with timely and accurate reporting as requested.
    • Be personally responsible for own personal continuous professional development, ensuring that he/she remains fully skilled and trained and effective in the post.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in a technical role for a residential/house builder or architect.
  • Appreciation of the legal process and laws pertaining to the construction industry.

Qualifications and Training

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Engineering, Architectural Technology or similar Construction related.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.

  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues effectively.

  • Proficient IT skills in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Full driving licence required.
