Accounts Assistant - Permanent

Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger and Management Accounts)

Full Time - Mon to Fri (9am-5pm)

We are a successful and growing SME based in Hampshire and looking to recruit a permanent dynamic and fun individual for our Finance Team.

You would be working within a very supportive team environment, the finance team work closely with Payroll, HR and Operations.

The role will include but will not be limited to:

  • Purchase Ledger
  • Support production of Management Accounts
  • Accruals and Prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing month end journals
  • Monitoring both the Sales & Purchase Ledger
  • Fixed Asset Register
  • Oversee and support with monthly payment runs and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Any other key tasks to support the Finance & HR Department

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Purchase Ledger Experience
  • Problem Solving Experience
  • Attention to Detail Skills and love working to deadlines
  • Preferring to work within a Team rather than on their own
  • A great sense of humour
  • Amazing Excel abilities
  • AAT Qualifications or working towards these (we are prepared to fund this for the right candidate)

Planner

Foreman Homes are looking to recruit a planner to join our close-knit planning team, on a permanent basis. You will be joining a well-established in-house planning team who work on a range of projects across Hampshire from small 2 –10 home schemes to large scale residential schemes of 500+ homes.

The role:

This is a very hands-on role, which will see the successful candidate being responsible for the complete planning process from site inception to receipt of planning permission and beyond.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Organise and maintain office work systems, including ensuring that computer records are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain an up to date record of Local Planning Authorities' Planning policies and Local Plan Reviews for internal reference.
  • Monitoring and reviewing local planning policy. Including strategies which take account of transport, the local economy, jobs, green infrastructure, renewable energy, climate change and the historic environment.
  • Conducting appropriate research to inform planning applications.
  • Negotiate, obtain quotations from, and instruct external engineers and other consultants and assist in the evaluation of their use by the Group.
  • Assist in the production of Planning Sketch Schemes through liaison with architects.
  • Collate and maintain evidence from public consultation meetings where the planning process requires it.
  • Compile Planning applications, conditions, and appeal documentation for submission to Local Planning Authorities, including research as necessary on prior planning history of sites.
  • Manage the submission of planning applications to Local Planning Authorities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Attend Planning Committee Meetings, Rights of Way Panels and Public Consultation Meetings to represent Foreman Homes.
  • Liaise with the planning team to understand all necessary aspects and needs for operational development.

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Good experience and a working knowledge of Planning processes, laws, and regulations in relation to planning approval.
  • Excellent organisational experience.
  • Commercial Awareness
  • A degree in town planning or similar is desirable, although "hands-on" experience is also equally welcome.
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
