Trojans Rugby Club

Foreman Homes, the region's largest and most recognised privately-owned housebuilder, has agreed to sponsor Trojans Rugby for another year, bringing its ongoing support for the club to seven years. The Trojans Ladies 1st XV is one of the most successful ladies rugby teams in the south of England.

Foreman Homes, the region's largest and most recognised privately-owned housebuilder, has agreed to sponsor Trojans Rugby for another year, marking an impressive seven-year partnership that has seen both first XV teams achieve considerable success and the Trojan Ladies squad become one of the most successful in the south of England.

The first rugby club in Hampshire, Trojans was formed in 1874 and today, at its superb Stoneham grounds, it is home to more than a thousand members aged from under six to over 60 who regularly participate in its rugby, cricket, hockey and squash activities that are held throughout the year.

As Trojans Rugby first teams continue to make incredible strides in their respective leagues, Foreman Homes was determined to continue its long-term support for the remarkable club that mirrors its own drive to succeed and make the local area a better place for those who live here – as Spencer Drake, Foreman's Sales and Marketing Director, reveals.

'We're very proud of our relationship with Trojans', comments Spencer. 'We've enjoyed a long partnership that has seen both first teams consistently perform beyond our expectations, in particular the Ladies' 1st XV who now play just one level away from professional rugby. Foreman Homes is as well-known a reputable local brand as Trojans is to the local sport scene and we're delighted to be able to support the club for another year as it aims for greater glory when the new season kicks off in September.'

Foreman Homes' generous sponsorship deal will help to ensure the club's hefty training, equipment and running expenses are met and see all teams able to train and compete as membership continues to thrive.

'It's great news that Foreman Homes has continued to support us this year,' says Mike Barns, Trojans Sponsorship Manager. 'Our partnership is helping our teams to keep competing at the highest level, raise our profile and attract new people to the sport. Thanks to success of our Ladies XV, Girls rugby is becoming more and more popular and we're delighted to have two senior ladies teams and three junior girls teams – U18's, U15's and U13's – in action this year to ensure we have a good development programme to feed into the ladies senior section so we can grow this further. We're a super friendly club with great facilities, a friendly bar and restaurant and a warm welcome to anyone that wants to join us.'

Indeed, Trojans is always on the lookout for new players, with or without experience; if you're interested in giving the sport a go, why not join the Touch Rugby course that runs every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm–8pm. You don't have to be a member and you'll meet men and women aged from 12–65 who are turning up in increasing numbers every week – there are now over 100 who regularly train for fun with friends and family.
