Our 2024 AFR Rate

February 11, 2025

At Foreman Homes, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. But we know that without our team, we wouldn’t be able to deliver our award winning service and homes.

That’s why our Health & Safety department, led by manager Chris Turner works tirelessly year round to ensure our team operates in a safe and supported environment.

By consistently monitoring and evolving processes, coordinating with our site managers and their teams and keeping up to date with any industry updates, they ensure any hazards or accidents are kept to a minimum.

A key measure of our Health & Safety performance is the Accident Frequency Rate (AFR), this is calculated by taking the number of reported incidents and averaging these over the hours worked across all of our sites.

In 2024, our AFR was just 1.1 – significantly lower than the industry average of 2.6. With the HSE reporting that construction remains one of the most high-risk industries, this achievement is a true testament to the hard work and commitment of Chris and the entire team. A huge well done to everyone involved!

Chris said “I don’t like the term ‘targets’ set by the industry, they aim for “zero harm”, that is impossible. What is possible, is to create a workplace where we genuinely care if you get home safely … a house can always be finished another day”.

Last year, we delivered more homes than ever, and we’re proud to have maintained our commitment to Health & Safety.
